What’s New in 3rd Grade?
We are finishing on nonfiction/research in reading unit. After that we will start an author study unit on the author Allen Say. Students will have a chance to study books by Allen Say and find commonalities across texts.
We are working on finishing report writing. Students are learning about the research process. Their reports are on Colorado biographies.
On April 1 we will begin an author study unit in writing. This will connect to our reading author study unit.
We are working on fractions in math, it is very important that you give real life examples to your children. Students need to understand a half, fourths and thirds. If you are baking or cooking let your child help and use measuring cups with fractions that include ½, 1/3 and ¼.
