Cristhina Shaikh is the proud Principal of Munroe Elementary School. She has over a decade of experience in Denver Public Schools and is deeply committed to fostering equity-centered and inclusive learning environments. Under her leadership, Munroe has implemented innovative practices such as trauma-informed education, and culturally responsive teaching, and has fostered a community-resource-based school, ensuring that all students, especially those from multilingual and socio-economically diverse backgrounds, have the tools to succeed.
Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Cristhina is a dedicated advocate for historically marginalized communities. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of Colorado Denver, with a focus on Latinx learners and communities. A first-generation college graduate and the daughter of immigrants, Cristhina draws from her own lived experiences to empower students and families. She holds a Master’s in Urban Education from the University of Denver and a Bachelor’s in Journalism from UNLV.
