Mr. Gonzalez currently serves as The Dean of students/Culture at Munroe Elementary. He has worked for DPS for the past 3 years in roles regarding: guest teaching, restorative practices, student and family support, translation and interpretation, after school program coordinator and basketball coach.

Born and raised in Mexico City, Mr. Gonzalez learned and mastered English as a young adult thanks to his love and interest in sports and academics. In 2016 he moved to Denver, Colorado and earned a Master’s degree in Education from Regis University.

As an English Language Learner himself, Mr. Gonzalez provides a unique first-hand perspective on the struggles and barriers many of our students face. This experience has empowered and led him to continue to advocate for the academic as well as the social emotional learning success of our students regardless of the language barriers they might encounter.

The teaching philosophy of Mr. Gonzalez is one that fosters respect, care, discipline and determination for students, their families and staff.

Mr. Gonzalez enjoys running, reading, watching movies, traveling and trying new food. He is currently working on mastering French as his third language!
