Hi! I’m Ms. Garcia, and I’m excited to be a part of the Denver Public Schools community. Not only have I been with DPS for over 6 years, but I’m also a proud DPS alumna! I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education K-12 with an emphasis on Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from the University of Colorado Denver.
As a bilingual, first-generation Latina teacher, I’m passionate about giving back to the Westwood and broader Denver communities. My roots are in Durango, Mexico, but I was born and raised in the Mile High City! I’m committed to providing all students with an equitable opportunity to learn and grow in my classroom, ensuring they always feel seen, heard, and valued. I pride myself on being hardworking, adaptable, patient, and kind—qualities that I believe help me create a positive and supportive learning environment for every student.
When I’m not in the classroom, I love spending time with my family, traveling, trying new foods, and exploring new places. My favorite place to visit is Santa Monica, California, and if I had my choice, I’d spend my days at Disneyland instead of work!
